If you are a New Mexico State Employee, you deserve a long overdue Fair Pay Raise – along with about 22,000 other state employees.
Too many have worked for the past ten years without any real cost of living adjustments.
The 3% raise being offered by the Legislative Finance Committee and the Governor is NOT a Fair Pay Raise.
It’s especially not fair considering legislative staff is getting a 5% raise.
When you consider the state received a surplus in state revenues of about $1.7 Billion the past two years, and the state provided economic incentives in the hundreds of millions of dollars for corporate interests, then it’s clear the people who keep vital services and programs working in New Mexico deserve better.
But to get the state to provide a Fair Raise, you and your co-workers will need to contact your State Representative and State Senator to remind them of the difficult times you and your family have endured.
It’s not that hard to do … Actually it’s real easy.
Then it’s up to you … and your Co-workers … so get everyone in your office to make contact.
