Nomination Instructions

  1. Download 2026 Election Nomination Form
  2. You may nominate one or more candidates using this form.
  3. You may nominate yourself.
  4. An individual may only accept the nomination for one position.
  5. You must include your name as the person nominating the candidate(s).
  6. Submit the filled-out form using one of the following:
    • MAIL: 460 Saint Michaels Drive, Suite 1008, Santa Fe, NM 87505
    • SCAN and EMAIL: elections@cwa7076.org
    • FAX: 505-983-1867

Election Timeline

  • Thursday, October 1, 2026 — Thursday, October 17, 2026 · midnight Mountain Time
    Nominations for all CWA 7076 Elected Officers and Convention Delegates will be accepted
    Nominations must be made in writing using the 2026 CWA Nomination Form and can be mailed, scanned and emailed or faxed as noted above.
  • Thursday, October 17, 2026 · 1:00 PM Mountain Time · Zoom
    Nominations will be officially accepted at the Membership Nominations Meeting
    Register in advance for the Zoom meeting
    Candidates will be notified of nominations following the Nominations Meeting.
    There will be no write-in candidates after nominations have closed.
  • October 20, 2026 · 5:00 PM Mountain Time
    Candidates accept nomination
    No member can accept a nomination for more than one (1) elected office at a time
  • October 30, 2026
    Ballots mailed out
  • December 1, 2026
    Ballots due
  • December 2, 2026
    Vote count
  • December 4, 2026
    Results announced
  • December 14, 2026
    Deadline to challenge results
  • December 27, 2026
    Final certification
  • January 1, 2027
    New Executive Board members assume office
  • January 21, 2027 Board Meeting

  • Offices will be held from January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2030

  • Bargaining Unit Vice President – State of New Mexico (SoNM)
  • Bargaining Unit Vice President – Timberon Water Sanitation District (TWSD)
  • Bargaining Unit Vice President – University of New Mexico (UNM)
  • Bargaining Unit Vice President – University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH)
  • Area Vice President (3) – State of New Mexico (SoNM)
  • RETIREE VICE PRESIDENT

Any dues-paying member in good standing is eligible to run for the positions indicated above in BOLD ALL CAPS. If you are running for a Bargaining Unit Vice President or Area Vice President position, you must work in that Bargaining Unit to be eligible. Term of office for all positions is three (3) years.

The duties of the Executive Board are listed in our Bylaws, Appendix A.
