Early voting in New Mexico starts October 6 and continues until the Saturday before Election Day.
Important Voting Deadlines
- Tuesday, Oct 6: Early voting begins
- Saturday, Oct 17: Expanded early voting begins
- Tuesday, Oct 20: Last day to request an Absentee Ballot
- Tuesday, Oct 27: Recommended last day to mail in Absentee Ballot
- Saturday, Oct 31: Last day of early voting
- Tuesday, Nov 3: ELECTION DAY!
You can find your voting location, and check your registration status at NMvote.org. New Mexico now has in-person same-day voter registration at your voting location for both early voting and on General Election Day.
Vote YES on 4!
This year, Constitutional Amendment 4 will be on the ballot asking the question: should the NM Legislature be paid? Our Union says YES! We voted to support this initiative at the membership meeting in March.
New Mexico is the only state where legislators receive no salary. That means public service in the legislature is often realistic only for people with wealth, retirement income, or flexible jobs. This restricts working parents, caregivers, teachers, nurses, small business owners, or young leaders from serving.
When only a few can afford to serve, we all pay the price. The only way to make sure that the NM Legislature is fighting for working people like us to is to make sure more working people are able to serve in the Legislature!

We are proud to be a member of the New Mexico Working Families Party (WFP). NM WFP supports and endorses candidates who engage voters with a compelling agenda that supports working families, challenge powerful Democrats, and hold elected officials at all levels accountable. The CWA Local 7076 Political Action Committee (PAC) also interviews and reviews questionnaires from candidates who ask us for endorsements. Our candidate endorsements are proposed by PAC, voted on by our Executive Board, and finally approved by our Members.
