SPO has REVISED the Inclement Weather Policy AS OF DECEMBER 8, 2024!
Due to the ongoing discussions our Union has been having with Acting Director Lange regarding the Inclement Weather Policy, SPO made some important revisions to the policy on Friday, December 8, 2023. The revised policy is posted on the SPO website, but here’s what it means for State Workers:
- Non-essential employees will go back to following school delays and closures for BOTH home and workplace locations. So if schools are closed where you live, but your workplace is open, you stay home. Also the opposite is true, if schools are open where you live, but your office is closed, you stay home.
- If schools are not in session (for example, winter break), SPO will announce delays or closures for Albuquerque and Santa Fe on its website: www.spo.state.nm.us Other locations will be announced by Cabinet Secretaries, Agency Heads, or their designees.
- As always, essential employees report to work as directed by your Agency or Department.
